• A company historical glass museum was established at Bangplee.


  • The company achieved ISO 14001: 2004 certification under the Environmental Management System (EMS) of Bureau Veritas (Thailand).


  • A new furnace (BP5) began operating in June, to meet the higher demand for beer bottles. The biggest furnace so far, it has a capacity of 435 tons per day, two bottle production lines and state-of-the-art technology.
  • Installation of a Narrow Neck Press-and-Blow machine in BP4 for manufacturing lightweight bottles


  • The company achieved ISO 9001: 2008 certification under the Quality Management System (QMS) of Bureau Veritas (Thailand).


  • TGI expanded internationally within a joint venture of BJC and Owens-Illinois, which acquired control of Malaya Glass Products (MGP) comprising four glass container factories located in China, Malaysia, Vietnam and Saraburi, Thailand.
  • Launch of the Six Sigma strategy, a powerful methodology for process improvement.
  • A new office building  started construction at Bangplee.



  • The company achieved OHSAS 18001:2007 certification under the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) of SGS (Thailand).
  • A glass technical training center is set up at Bangplee and a knowledge management process is initiated.
